When I go back home next week [9 days from now], I will "retire" cosplaying.
Reasons of why:
1. $$$: I know some will say that it's a stupid reason but if you're like me and lack creativity in the sewing dept then it's a good reason. I have no job and when I do get one once I can drive, more than likely I'll be using that money to save up for retirement and when I need it for bills. I also want to save up so I can live in an apartment with Lorrie - that has been our plan since I moved to Florida 6 years ago and I plan on keeping to it. Just been tough.
2. School: I am planning on going to Florence-Darlington Technical College this fall and I'll be buried in my studies. I need to concentrate on that more than anything.
3. Lacking interest: Since I moved back up to SC, I've been slowly losing my interest in cosplaying. I was being deprived at first since I have no one to cosplay with up there and I don't want to do that all by myself. Now, I don't really care. I was always more of an otaku/gamer over a cosplayer. I rather watch and enjoy the anime, video game and its characters. I'm not saying I don't enjoy cosplaying because I do, especially with my friends, but I'm not very good at it.
Now to explain why retire is in quotations. I promised a good dA artist/friend of mine
Will I stop going to conventions? Of course not! I love conventions with a passion, I like the feeling of being surrounded by people who share the same interest as I do. Also, I admire cosplayers and I rather take photos of/for cosplayers than actually be one. I love taking photos as most of you know and I enjoy editing them afterwards. I'm more creative in that department.
So for those who actually liked my cosplays, I'm sorry. This is just something I feel I should do for myself instead of forcing myself to continue something I'm starting to lack interest in. I'm 98% sure I won't change my mind. It was a fun 4 years cosplaying... I'm going to try and cosplay a little bit the next 9 days - more than likely as Riku. Still trying to think up my outfit for the Tristan cosplay.
One more thing before I end this... I would like to thank

You say, "Dreams are dreams.
"I ain't gonna play the fool anymore."
You say, "'Cause I still got my soul."
Don't try to live so wise.
Don't cry 'cause you're so right.
Don't dry with fakes or fears,
'Cause you will hate yourself in the end.

I hate obsessive fangirls. They give us girls who just happen to like something that may or may not be something related to anime, manga and/or games a really bad name.

I consider fanart, art. I consider photography art. So I do consider cosplay, the art of turning yourself into a character and making the costume and photographing it, an art.
Thank you.
